On November 16th the Torrance Theatre Company lost a dear friend… Ann Smisek. We join her incredible family, her friends, and the entire community in mourning the loss of this wonderful woman.
Ann was one of our first season-ticket holders, a vocal advocate for our programs for a decade, a volunteer, a philanthropist, and most recently, a founding board member of the Friends of Torrance Theatre Company.
Ann was a giver, quietly helping behind-the-scenes, shunning any credit or accolades for her good deeds. In 2008 she donated lunch for a special performance of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever which was presented for families with autistic and developmentally challenged children; that day she fed over 150 audience and cast members. She had so many causes to which she contributed, and we in the TTC are so humbled and honored to have held a small place in her life and in her heart.
Ann was the picture of grace, humility, and kindness and she had a special way of brightening up the space around her, and that light that will not soon fade away. We will always remember our beloved Ann, and she will always be a special part of the TTC family.
Parting is such sweet sorrow…
